Introducing Pathway To Progress (P2P) by Everyday Lessons. Wigan based
The Pathway to Progress Project is an educational initiative based in Wigan, Greater Manchester supporting young learners aged 11-16 and post 16. It aims to provide learners with vocational studies while bridging gaps in maths and English through embedded functional skills. Our mission is to empower students with a well-rounded education that encompasses practical life skills, employability insights, and progression opportunities, laying a strong foundation for their future success.
At Everyday Lessons, we are dedicated to providing accessible education that addresses each learner's unique needs in a supportive, holistic environment. Our goal is to be a trusted resource for training, offering an alternative provision that fills gaps in the current system. We integrate mental health and well-being into our educational approach, equipping learners with practical tools and knowledge to support them in their careers and beyond.
Who we are
Everyday Lessons was founded in 2022 by Emma Jayne Lavin, who has 10 years experience within educational settings. Working within diverse learning environments and differing age groups, from age 11 and up, in alternative provision settings, post 16, further education (FE), colleges, and independent academies. She has expertise in curriculum management and quality assurance, ensuring a high standard of education across all programs.
Our tutors are well established within their specialist fields. Still active within the individual industries across sports, hair and beauty and construction.
Our carefully chosen external advisors are industry experts who bring a wealth of knowledge for children and young people to learn from. These advisors include inspiring entrepreneurs, social media specialists, mental health counsellors, attendance support professionals, financial advisors, and keynote speakers, all offering valuable insights, guidance, and support.
What is Pathway to Progress (P2P)?
P2P is designed to offer a safe, supportive, inclusive environment for learners seeking respite from conventional education. Whether you’re looking for accredited vocational qualifications or engaging workshops, our project is here to support your learner every step of the way.
Are you an educational establishment who have learners that feel the need to escape from the traditional education system?
Everyday Lessons is here to provide a sanctuary and a new path through our Pathway To Progress Project (P2P). We understand that mainstream education isn't a one-size-fits-all solution, and that's why P2P is dedicated to offering alternative educational opportunities tailored to meet individual needs.
Our engagement programme targets students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or those exhibiting Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). We create tailored courses centred on the student's personal interests in the hair and beauty, sports, construction and creative industries to name a few. If you are wondering if a subject is covered that isn't mentioned, please just ask as we can accommodate most needs. As a company we are continually developing and adding new opportunities. So although we may not meet your needs initially , we can always discuss ways in which we can progress together to support our young learners.
The programme focuses on building relationships, managing anxiety and stress, and facilitating reintegration into a classroom setting.
Our respite programme provides a short break from mainstream education to address any buildup of behavioural issues. It aims to break negative behavioural cycles and support students through transitions they may be experiencing.
We also provide quality information and guidance to help learners with the transition into further education, whether that is continuing with Everyday Lessons, post 16 or progressing onto another educational establishment or into a career.
