Everyday Lessons is committed to meeting the core educational needs of the children and young people we support. We work in close partnership with schools, local authorities, parents, and carers to ensure that every young person’s voice is heard, respected, and central to the process.
Our person-centred approach integrates social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) support with well-being and education, with a particular focus on Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). Our goal is to help young people reintegrate into education, employment, or training in a way that is sustainable and meaningful.
We provide guidance around Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), offer tailored advice, and help build a strong network of internal and external support. Through partnerships with external agencies, we can access additional resources, address a wide range of needs, and offer flexible, inclusive learning opportunities that re-engage learners and support their return to a safe, supportive, and productive environment.
A trauma- sensitive approach to meeting the emotional and social needs of the children and young people. - This helps children and young people develop social and emotional skills using a positive stance that focuses on developmental needs of our children and young people. Building strong relationships will help people that they are surrounded by such as family, friends and teachers. This approach creates an environment in which the students thrive through strong action plans and a learner journey that is created by both the educator and the student. Including but not limited to stress management, decision making and how to self soothe. Ultimately improving overall whilst re engaging in education. This approach helps us understand the needs that the individual is signalling to us so we can meet them and improve behaviour.
Using a learner-centred approach, we match students with subjects that will help re-engage them in education. At Everyday Lessons, we collaborate with students and their support networks to gather information unique to each individual, including their learning styles, interests and career aspirations. Our goal is to offer opportunities for students to pursue subjects that align with their goals. Through individualised learning plans (ILPs) , Initial assessments and regular support meetings, we ensure that learners stay engaged and on track. Core subjects are integrated into the planning to provide a well-rounded education. Students take an active role in their learning as educators customise pathways based on their specific needs. While learners understand that National Occupational Standards (NOS) must be met according to their awarding bodies, Everyday Lessons remain flexible wherever possible to support personalised learning.

Careers guidance plays a key role in our curriculum, with all staff ensuring students receive support and inspiration not only in career planning but also in becoming spiritually reflective, independent, and culturally aware individuals. This approach helps students build resilience, confidence, and awareness to pursue economic opportunities both within their communities and beyond.
