What is the L5 Diploma in education and training equivalent to?
The Level 5 DET is equivalent to the second - year bachelors degree in the UK.
What can I teach once I qualiy?
This is a recognised qualification for the port-16 sector. This qualification is the most advanced from the 3 qualifications (L3,L4 this is L5). You will be able to work as a teacher within the FE skills sector. (Further education)
You are able to teach at sixth form colleges, universities, adult education centres, prisons and youth offender organisations, charities or offer out private education under your own accreditation. You will also be able to teach company employees in house.
You will be able to teach subjects to learners aged 16+
You will also be able to teach work-related learning to students aged 14-16
You have many opportunities once you have undertaken the L5 DET.
You can teach vocational training which prepares learners for work and gives them professional skills.
Work within and academic setting offering GCSE levels and A-level training or basic skills in numeracy and literacy.
Am I limited to the sector I can teach in?

The level 5 diploma in education and training (RQF) requires home study which includes research and written assessments along with practical teaching assessments throughout. This also requires you to complete 100 teaching hours within a classroom so you must have access to learners to ensure this course criteria can be met.

You must be over 18. You must also be a qualified assessor. It is also strongly recommended you have competence within the areas you wish to IQA. Understanding the breadth and depth of quality assurance and its importance of maintaining standards within the subject area. It is highly recommended you are aware of and understand your industries NOS (National occupational standards) needed to undertake the particular task or job that you will be IQA. It is imperative the IQA is familiar with the standards. Detail matters and it's important you have an ability to look over all the information to check quality of even the smallest detail.
